Dr. Carr is absolutely fantastic. We have been patients of Brookhaven Animal Hospital for about five years now, and I truly cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carr and the entire team. Our sweet girl is now 15 and has been struggling with arthritis. We initially took a more conservative, non-invasive approach with oral medications and supplements. At no point did we ever feel pressured to try the newest medication or treatment on the market, and we never felt like our girl was being treated as a “test subject.” We always felt that her comfort and quality of life were the priority. While the medications have been wonderful for her, we recently reached a point where we needed to consider adding other treatment modalities. Dr. Carr took the time to thoroughly explain each option, including the risks and benefits of each approach, and helped personalize a treatment plan specifically for our old gal. She was incredibly patient with all of my questions and concerns and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. Most importantly, she reassured me that there were plenty of options and that we could take things one step at a time. That level of compassion, communication, and individualized care means so much when you're making decisions for a senior pet. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Carr and the entire team at Brookhaven Animal Hospital. We are so grateful to have such caring, thoughtful people helping us take care of our sweet girl in her golden years. ❤️🐾

I had a really upsetting and disturbing experience with my kitty when I had to go into her Animal Clinic here at Brookhaven, having to make a decision to put her to sleep to ease her pain. In the middle of this situation before she was even put to sleep and I am holding her in my arms they put an electronic device in my face and saying this is how much it’s gonna be, of course I was shocked that they did that at that moment in time, never had this happen before and the other times I’ve had to have one of my babies put to sleep, I express my annoyance. I guess you could call it, I said goodbye to my little girl and by the time I got home, Brookhaven Animal Clinic had emailed the bill to me. The bill said do immediately. I didn’t pay it that day. I waited till the next day and I saw they had sent yet a second notice to me and and read the notice said that it was overdue to pay immediately. I paid the bill that day, I will not recommend this clinic to anybody nor will I ever returned to that clinic. The doctors were nice. The staff was nice, but that was just over the top for me. I’ve never been in a situation like that have been treated that way when I’m having to put one of my pets to sleep. That was to me just very odd. It wasn’t like I’ve never been there before I’ve been going there for a while and they knew who I was. So no, I would not recommend this clinic.

Please read, warning to other pet owners. We made the difficult decision to put our dog Finn down at Brookhaven Animal Hospital. We requested a private cremation so that Finn’s remains would be returned to us, and the staff confirmed and charged us for this choice. Brookhaven Animal Hospital made an inexcusable mistake and did not relay the proper instructions to the company handling the cremation, and as a result, Finn’s remains were lost. There is nothing that can be done now, and my wife and I are extremely hurt by the lack of attention and care from Brookhaven Animal Hospital in one of our most difficult moments. There are a lot of good vets in Atlanta, consider going elsewhere

Brookhaven Animal Hospital was able to get my senior dog in as a new client to receive an echocardiogram within 2 weeks. Dr. Horner has been fantastic to work with- makes phone calls, returns phone messages, sends emails, etc… Additionally, their price for the echocardiogram was ~$200 less than the specialist hospital, with the ability be seen within 2 weeks.
